Remember, voting started early on September 30 so we encourage you to go to the Board of Elections at 1802 Princeton Rd., Suite 600 to beat the rush, and possibly weather, on election day.

Hamilton Obama Staging Office

I have seen great things happening at the Butler County Democrat headquarters in downtown Hamilton. The headquarters is located at 633 High Street. I was in the office twice last week doing data entry and making phone calls for the Obama campaign. There was a steady trickle of people coming in, getting buttons and signs, and volunteering to do what they can for this important election. I was especially impressed with the trio of people who spoke Spanish and offered to go canvassing in the Mexican-speaking areas.

So for those of you who don't know about what is going on at your local Democrat headquarters, now you do. It is the Obama Field Office Staging Area for Hamilton, Fairfield, and Fairfield Township. They are open every day till 9:00 p.m. and have many phones available for those of you who can do phone canvassing. Talk to Louis and Eileen when you go there and they will happily get you to working on some important project. Many more volunteers are needed to do phones calls, canvassing neighborhoods, voter registration at various locations, post card writing, and data entry.

Also, this year, we are encouraging everyone to take advantage of voting early. Democrat Presence at the Butler County Fair

The Democratic party for Butler County made their presence known at the Butler County Fair during the week of July 20-26, 2008. There were a lot of people that stopped in to see what we had and to educate themselves on the candidates. We also had forms for voter registration and several people availed themselves of the opportunity to get signed up to vote. Hopefully, we generated a lot of interest and turned a few hearts our way to help us keep turning Butler County blue this election.

During this picture taking session, Donna Mollaun and Bob & Cleo Imhoff were manning the booth. Donna lent her talents to do face painting on anyone who wanted a colorful design painted on their face. Earlier in the day, Ken Keith and Glenda Smith were in charge of the booth.

Come to the Meetings!

Campaign season is in full swing and now is the time to get involved! All of our committees have still been meeting and they are now putting their plans in place so we can keep up the momentum. Come to the meeting and learn about the many ways you can help. Also, we will be reviewing recent meetings, such as our first two Central and Executive Committee trainings, and be reporting on upcoming events, including the Truman Kennedy Holcomb Dinner and others. Additionally, we will be hearing from our outstanding candidates and finding out how we can support them in their efforts.
